A Rose is a Rose

Another find from my Replacements Ltd. visit. Could you resist these? Napkin (serviette to the Brits) rings just being unpacked as we stepped inside the front door of the showroom. Made of fabric and quite beautiful at just $2.99 each!

Of course I couldn't resist, neither could my friend. We both brought half a dozen to our respective homes, saying we would share if each of us does a dinner party for 12 some day! Meanwhile mine will sit in a bowl - just cannot bring myself to hide them away. In fact I'm thinking of many ways to use them other than napkin rings.

And among the many amazing porcelain art figurines costing thousands of dollars, this one was stunning. Bet these muses never saw a kitchen stove or donned an apron, and can you imagine baking in those dresses......................let alone cook a dinner for twelve! The picture I'm conjuring in my mind is reclining on low sofas being hand fed grapes, and sipping wine from silver goblets.

  1. Tose roses are just beautiful. Good that you are not putting them away. Think what a pretty summer table you could set with these! But then roses say celebration so they would be pretty on any table.

I am so anxious to see your Christmas tree. I know you said you were going to show it soon. Are you getting close to finishing your decorating? We are having storms here in Holland this week and have decided to stay here for the weekend. I can finish my decorations while I am here and Jos will finish painting the last two doors from the renovation project. I may even get him to paint my wall space behind my headboard. I want to give it a splash of color. I have my fingers crossed that I will like the color when I open the pot of paint. :)

What are your plans for this weekend?

    Hugs ~

  3. Oh Mary, those roses are so lovely and delicate. I love roses, especially pink ones. I think I've seen those rose napkin rings at Linens n' things, but they're expensive, about $5.99 each, so every time I go by and see those beautiful roses I just have to turn away from it... what a bargain you got. Go get some more... really!

Have a lovely day my friend.
