Returning to New England is always pleasant. This trip was even more special because I was to meet up with blog friend Janet of Housepeepers in Massachusetts. Only had a little time to visit, our itinerary was full, but this quick stop to meet humorous Janet, and her charming husband Bob, was so enjoyable.
Janet had planned for us to eat outside on her back deck overlooking a lovely garden area but rain clouds were threatening again.......New England had suffered through a very wet June with 29 straight days of rain, phew! This of course meant the garden was brilliant green, no dried out grass, and huge hostas with dozens of flower spikes ready to bloom. Oh to bring some of that rain back to the the hot, dry Southeast.
So we gathered around her table in a beautiful dining room, surrounded by Janet's collection of antiques, and tucked into the goodies while chatting away a mile a minute.
I loved Janet's kitchen and her pot rack - something I've always wanted but am too nervous to hang from my ceiling!
Your trip sounds wonderful, Mary. I've always wanted to visit New England!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous!
Janet's home is so pretty. I'll stop by her blog. I seem to remember visiting before, then lost track of Housepeepers.
Jasmine is beautiful. I know she is a great traveling companion.
It looks like you had a wonderful time. Janet's home looks warm and welcoming and the breakfast looks very tasty!

What a beautiful home and fun visit you had!
ReplyDeleteGrandma, it certainly was fun to visit Janet at her lovely home. I love the peaceful yellow color of her home and her back garden (as well as the front) is absolutely beautiful. I love her plants too. The breakfast was very nice, and so was the place that she made it. I love her kitchen. And I know you do also because of the pot rack. Anyway, glad I was with you on our trip.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jasmin

Thanks Mary; we do look good, don't we?? Just back from my HS reunion trip to Vermont. Mostly nice weather, but of course we had to have one big thunderstorm. Wouldn't be the Summer of 2009 without one. Glad you enjoyed your trip and made it home safely.

PS. Found some large Hostas hding in my Mom and Dad's yard. They had managed to avoid my Dad's lawn mower so we rescued some and brought them home to join their friends in the garden.
The house is lovely! I love the blue on yellow. I know you had a good time. Isn't it fun to meet blogger friends in real life? Last summer I met a blogger friend and it was really special.

It sounds like you had a wonderful visit with Janet and Bob. Love her yellow house and yes, I too would love a pot rack but am more afraid of whacking my head on it rather it falling! LOL!! The breakfast looks scrumptious. What a lovely hostess Janet is. I will have a peek at her blog!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Jasmin is a wonderful travelling companion!
