Go West -------->

Travelling westward in an 1800's Conestoga covered wagon. Fun for more adventurous souls, a bit tough on those of us long in the tooth.
Of course one could at least pack more, including the kitchen sink, which I can never seem to fit in the overhead!

Golden Gate Bridge - San Francisco

Tomorrow I'm heading West with DH and 'travelling granddaughter' Jasmin. Our first stop will be San Francisco. This will be our final Summer trip..............then I hope to stay home for a while and do all the jobs/projects that have piled up lately.

A few relaxing 'on the water' days here with our dearest friends at Lake Almanor, Northern California.................

Grand Tetons National Park - Mt. Morant by Daryl Gibson

........then on to many other beautiful places such as Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Montana........

...........and of course Yellowstone National Park.

I hope to be able to keep in touch and post along the way, depending on WI-FI access. Having traveled to America's West several times, I know there is much scenery of amazing beauty to share with you.

Off to complete the packing and get an early night!

  1. Sounds like a lovely journey indeed.
    You should check out the amazing San Fransisco store, Bellochio, if you have the time. I think you would love it!

  4. Have a wonderful time. I am taking a few days off of work, and I hope to get in some time to visit a few places in our area that I've been wanting to visit.

    Perhaps when my mother is stronger we will be able to get away again.

    Jasmin's picture with the clams made me smile. I've seen that face on my grandson, too.

  5. Hey Mary; Thank you for the kind comment... I surprising to see that you live in N.C. wow a blog friend who sort of lives close by... We used to live in an apartment for four yrs, and I really did not like it,, but then they did not look any thing like the ones out here,, we are looking at the Colonial Grand, it is like a resort area.. So that is a plus. Any way your last summer trip sounds so much fun, please share all your photos and great stories,,,, have fun and be safe..

    Hugs;

  11. Oh, Mary! Do you ever tire? I have always wanted to visit San Francisco and visit the vineyards, and I am sure we will. Now that our youngest is starting college, we will have more freedom (and most likely, less money!).

    Can't wait to hear your latest adventures!

    xoxo

  13. Hi Mary,
    I also wish you had time to visit Filoli! I know you would feel "at home" there...

    I live about 30 northeast of Sacramento(approx. 100 miles from SF). Lots to do in this area. Next time you visit California, if you can add it to your schedule, I'd love to play tour guide.

    Enjoy your trip,
    Chris
