Sunday afternoon. Warmer temps., sunshine, snow and ice just about gone, good friends treasure hunting. I headed to SuzAnna's Antiques to meet Vanessa of Vanilla Lavender. Also arranged to meet another local blog pal Lisa of pupylov for the first time. She often visits the shop but we kept missing each other before. Can never have too many junk gypsy friends! It was a fun time and Susie and Jenny have been working hard changing displays, decorating and readying for...........you've guessed it, Spring!
The latest offerings at SuzAnna's Antiques are, as always, varied, interesting and often drop dead gorgeous!

Speaking of gorgeous.......................
I've been really bad about posting an updated photo of Susie and her daughter Jenny who together are the owners of the shop. Susie's former business partner, Anna of Chickens in the Basement 'retired' to spend more time with her young sons, but we often see her, thank goodness - she is one fun gal. This mom and daughter combo are two creative firecrackers who do a great job and make a visit to the shop always so much fun.
....................and I can't leave you without sharing Bruce............SUPER nice DH of Susie, daddy of Jenny...............and he's always helping the gals move stuff, build stuff, fix stuff, just as he was doing Sunday afternoon. You rock Bruce!!

You're framed Bruce!!

They're great aren't they? I had so much fun with you yesterday as well as talking about life's random stuff. The furniture in Luna's bedroom looks great!! I'll send a picture soon. Lots of love, Vanessa
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate you are to have such a treasure trove nearby!
ReplyDeleteI want to go!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary from the bottom of my heart! This is awesome and it is so nice to have such great friends!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was another fun day of hunting for treasures! Someday....I will get to visit there too!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
You're so nice to remember me! I'm still stunned with the things that show up and get created at SuzAnna's. It's truly the best little antique shop in the area! Great photos, Mary!
ReplyDeleteIf I ever get to your state I am gonna look that place up. We have several in Louisville, but I don't know anyone interested in the vintage things. My kiddos all want new things. They don't have any taste, they tell me the same thing. We'll all be glad to see the snow go, but it is beautiful.

Fun to see Susie, Jenny, and Bruce, plus things in the shop.
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun post! It was so nice to see everybody out yesterday. Mom had a great time shopping! Hope to do it again soon!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lisa
I really need to go check out this shop. Where in Raleigh is is?
ReplyDeleteHello Mary! Just dropping by to send you my greetings. It's so nice that you have a local shop with great owners to share with your friends. I have enjoyed catching up on your posts - they always warm my heart and make me dream of lovely things.
ReplyDeleteWhile your snow is leaving, we're getting a whole new batch here in Indiana - maybe up to 8". I know it's more of a novelty for you in NC, but here...I'm pretty much ready for it to end. I would love it if I could stay home and enjoy it, but not so much when you have to scrape off the car to go to lunch, and then again to go home. Snow and hairspray are not the best of friends either! My hair doesn't even resemble how it looked before I left home today!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Lori
Hi Mary! Sounds like another fun day there! I have to get that way to meet up with you and visit the shop. However, I think I'll wait till spring and warmer weather!!
ReplyDeleteTake Care!

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had another lovely day shopping and visiting your friends. I will have to stop in Raleigh to visit SuzAnna's next time I go to Wilmington.
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Erin
I just love Jenny! I visit her blog often. I never tied the Suzanna's store that you visit to Jenny and her mom's store. Maybe one day, I'll make it across country and get to meet all of you! Lisa is also one of my favorite blog people too. What a great time you must have had!
ReplyDeleteA shopping day would be fun! I am thinking maybe in March I should be up to walking. Right now I am still limited to 30 minutes twice a day. I am getting better and hope to be up and about before too long. I will let you know. Hugs, Donna
