The Common Cold

Don't you just hate feeling under the weather?

UNDER THE WEATHER - a British phrase of course, was used on sailing ships. When a crew member was ill he was confined below deck out of the weather, so it was said he was "under the weather".

How can a simple head cold turn into a raging river.........streaming, dripping, running, watering.....................

................swallowing spoonfuls of bad tasting stuff, sucking on lozenges to combat the throat prickles, dabbing teary eyes, drippy, itchy sore nose, and sneezing nonstop-----------again, again and again!!!!!

Hand me another box of tissues please---------does that make two or three boxes just since yesterday? Make me another hot drink. I'm heading back to bed with a good book and a long afternoon nap.

Feel better soon... sending healing vibes. And Pamela is so right: sleep, sleep, sleep! And I'm a big proponent on a nip of scotch.

  3. Hope you feel better soon. I was fighting a head cold last week, but luckily it is now vanished. All I wanted to do was sleep. So crawl into a warm cozy spot and catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  4. Oh Mary! I hope you feel better soon. My advice is to have chicken noodle soup....read plenty of decorating magazines and dream about your upcoming trip....

  9. I hope that you are feeling so much better Mary. I can't believe I am this far behind in reading your blog!! So you have a sweet gum tree in your yard? I'm not too fond of them especially when I walk barefoot!

  10. Knocking wood! No cold so far this year, or flu either. Maybe it's because I hardly ever get out or see any people.
