My dirty little secret........

Something you probably don't know about me. I'm one of those.........you know..........bag ladies!!
Not talking fancy designer handbags, purses or pocket books.......

............rather simple little cloth bags which specify their usefulness in no uncertain terms.

Do you travel with your shoes in bags?

How about your pegs (clothespins). Do you hang them in a cute bag near the washing line, or are you an electric dryer person? I have to admit, sadly, I haven't pegged anything out since in France last Autumn!

Potatoes quickly sprout little appendages if left in the light - but stored in a dark lined bag like this they're OK for much longer. Do you have one of these?

All these useful bags were purchased in England and I love them.

  1. I do have a peg bag and also bags for shoes when travelling, no potato bag unless you count a very large hessian sack full of potato's in the garage.

There is a photo of my peg bag somewhere on my blog. Having had to use dryers for 2 years I was soooooo pleased to have a line to hang washing outside and made a new bag for the pegs I had to buy. Having given most of my others to my DD2.

The shoe bags were made out of curtains samples I was given, so each one is different.

Last year one of the few sewing things I did was to make two bags for bowls trophies. Neither had any protection so I made 2 quilted bags with the name of the trophy embroidered on the front.

  2. Funny how I didn't know about this little secret but wondered about it while browsing at a store the other day... I saw a very cute little bag and thought - Mary would love this "cutie". Hope you're doing just fine. Miss you! Love, Vanessa

  5. Oh now I miss having a clothesline to dry the wash! I kept my clothespins in an old basket, not a bag -- but I like ALL of your bags, and I think the potato bag is especially charming and useful.

  6. My Mary, you have been busy this week!
First time I've looked in and you make me feel guilty!
Fine weather has finally reached us so sitting on ther deck, doing absolutely nothing is the order of the day.
