Silver Service

Sometimes life's little thrills are presented to one on a silver platter. Remember my recent purchase of this French Bistro sign for the kitchen, which by the way, I love and am glad was still there when I returned after a couple of months of debating, should I, shouldn't I? That booth, named The Shabby Rose, belongs to two lovely, fun dealers, Brenda & Debbie.

These gals know what to hunt for! They stock their space with unusual things, the kind I love, and many are French inspired.

Lots of chippy paint in fabulous colors...............

..........interesting chandeliers and light fixtures..........

......................this wonderful bull's eye mirror (now waiting to be hung in my home) inspired by the old zinc windows on Paris buildings.............and precious art such as this gorgeous oil painting of children.

Iron topiary and basket - German shutters

When I bumped into the gals restocking and rearranging their space last weekend, they told me of their second location at a recently opened shop not far from my house. This shop, Affordable Chic, has not only antiques, vintage and new decorative treasures, also a tiny tearoom, and sells fresh flowers and seasonable vegetables - what more could one wish for.

Next time I'll show you more of The Shabby Rose's beautiful offerings at their new location...............including a surprise piece I'd love to own, but I'll need to win the Lottery first!!

  3. You find the best places to go shopping! Someday I am heading back over there for a longer period of time than just over night, just so I can come shopping with you in your area.

LOVE that mirror!! Can't wait to see where you place it in your home.

  6. God morning Mary, I am sorry to miss a couple of your posts. These shingles are taking a bite out of my time. The pain meds make me sleep. sigh. In fact I am getting ready to go into town and meet Bill for some lunch and some duplicate bridge this afternoon. We belong to a group that plays on Weds. and we have missed the last two weeks. I am much improved today at last. Bill is working P?T teaching a class at the local college, so It is better if I just meet him in town.

I would love to take a seat at La Mondone. How beautiful it is. Maybe some day we will travel
    there.

I see you have found some new places to shop. I love to wander around in interesting shops such as the ones you have shared. We were planning a trip to Raleigh but that has changed. Another time soon I hope.

Thank you for your sweet comments about my posts. I always love to hear from you.

I better get going my dear friend.

    Love, Jeanne

  11. You sure have an eye for finding treasures. I never go into shops like that. Maybe because I know I do not need anything. LOL. Happy shopping to you anyway.

  12. Hi Mary,
If I'd been shopping alongside you, I'd have snapped up those blue shutters, such a pretty shade.

    Pleasant day :-)

  13. Similar to my favorite place. I would buy, buy, buy but that means I would have to take everything down and make room. Most everything I have was a gift from one of my family members. I would love to buy for my daughters, but they have entirely different tastes.
    Love the pictures.

  14. I can't wait to see your pictures from Affordable Chic! The tea room sounds wonderful!!

I like the mirror you chose. Why is it called a bullseye mirror?

By the way, geographically, how are you located with Asheville? The Husband is making rustling noises about a fall trip there. I've heard it is wonderful to visit!

    xoxo
