Mountain Majesty - The Grand Tetons

Leaving Jackson Hole early morning, I always take a deep breathe, readying myself for the awesome panorama ahead. It seems you just round a corner and there they are in all their majesty, the mighty Grand Teton mountains.

There were no crowds of tourists, the air was perfect, around 70 degrees, the sun was shining with a few high puffy clouds just grazing the top of Grand Teton 13,770 feet, and Mt. Moran 12,605 feet, the highest peaks in the Grand Teton Range.

Still some snow on the peaks and the cool morning required a light jacket.

If you've never visited this area of great beauty, I encourage you to do so. It's close to the South entrance to Yellowstone so you can enjoy exploring both National Parks within a couple of days.

The wildflowers were still abundant and the meadows green due to some wet weather prior to our visit.....................mountains and flowers, always a perfect combination.

Leaving the Tetons and Wyoming is always hard. These towering peaks really are awesome.

I'll be back soon to show you a beautiful day in Yellowstone when, as always, Old Faithful was on time!

  8. It's been to long since I visited the Tetons. They do take your breathe away with the beautiful of those rugged mountains. Then you have the added pleasant of the wildflowers. What a special trip.

  9. Breathtaking. How do you get the borders around the pictures? Maybe you could tell me sometime when you have time. Blessings

  10. I've never seen the Tetons. I so envy Dan's family - they went on vacation every summer, no matter what, and saw so much of the west - even during the summer when Dan had hip dysplasia and could not walk. My stepdad was busiest in summer (refrigeration business) but at least we got to go to Glacier National Park for a long weekend because his brother worked for the park service and lived in West Glacier. Gosh, I love the American West. I am so glad you two and Jasmine are getting to experience it. Very cool and rainy here in ND this summer.

  11. How beautiful, Mary. I don't think I have known what I have been missing by not visiting the West as much as I do the East. You are giving me a lot to consider. Nor have I spent much time near mountains either and these pictures are stunning. I can only imagine how breathtaking it would be to see them myself.

    xoxo
