......................everything!
Yesterday the rain fell like the crystals dangling from the front porch. It started gently then changed to 'cats and dogs' - the kind of rain that would be deafening if you were under a tin roof. The roses sagged, their petals sweeping the ground like a ballgown. The Jasmine's perfume was intoxicating making one want to stand still and just inhale........raindrops, scents, colors scrubbed clean and sparkly.
I just want to see more and more pics of your garden, Mary!Lovely! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful! I wish we would get some rain. We're in our dry season now and probably won't get any until October!

ReplyDeleteI love rain on a tin roof, I stayed somewhere recently that had a corrugated iron roof and during the rain it was so noisy, but it made me feel so cozy.

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI've missed a lot of posts in the last few days. Your garden is looking wonderful We have been enjoying the benefits of all that rain also. I love your front porch and all the delightful decorating details you've included there. It is so charming and inviting.
It's fun to hear about your little wrens. Sounds like it has the nmakings of a Beatrix Potter type story! You've got the writing talent to do it too!
Enjoy the day.

I added my location in the school photo, in today's post. I'm 4th from right, wearing my saddle oxfords and what looks like a pin on my dress....yes, I loved jewelry back then, too!

Hi Mary, when I was a little girl my grandmother had a big snowball bush in her yard & after it rained we would get under it & shake the day lights out of it & get soaked with the rain water ! We thought that was great fun ! My grannie didn't like it too much though LOL !
ReplyDeleteThe pictures made me almost smell the sweet smells of a garden when it has rained. I just love the jasmine wrapped up around your front porch post. What a perfect place for it. As you sit on the porch drinking your cup of Earl Grey, you can breath in the jasmine with intoxication. The area where the potting shed is looks like a nice shady spot to sit and relax.
ReplyDeleteHugs ~
