VANESSA - a sweet name for a lovely new friend!
I recently met Vanessa via my blog and as we live just half an hour apart we've already met in person to shop at SuzAnna's Antiques. Later we enjoyed tea here at the cottage.
This evening we'll meet again for the grand ribbon cutting party celebrating SuzAnna's new addition. Susie and Anna will introduce the new dealers who are bringing in such fabulous merchandise. The fabulous Linda, queen of organization, has assisted in editing and displaying all the great merchandise - now if only I had more room at the cottage................!!!!
The weather is grand - Sam's Country Porch will also be open for more antiques, plants, fresh vegs. and local strawberries - there will be wine tasting and camaraderie among a great group of people who love to treasure hunt for antiques, vintage, and shabby chic - wish you could all come along.
Do stop by and introduce yourself to Vanessa, originally from Brazil, at Vanilla Lavender. I know she would enjoy hearing from you.
These old magazine images of lavender from my file seem perfect for today ~ imagine painting a wagon this shade of lavender - how wonderful it would look in the garden on the green lawn.
Beautiful post, Mary and the one, before, about your wall! I'll stop by Vanessa's.
ReplyDeleteBefore it began raining, this morning, I took a few photos around our gardens. This Spring has been exceptionally wonderful! Can't believe it's as cool as it is, this near Memorial Day!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Mary:
ReplyDeleteI don't like working in the garden, but I totally love that lavender. I think I will get some and see if it will work in my yard.
I planted two trees, a lilac bush and some plants my cousin gave me starts on, so maybe I can get lavender to grow. LOL.
Nancy
I love lavender and have some in my garden. We lost one really pretty bush though this year which saddened both Jos and I. I want to replace it.
ReplyDeleteI love that cart and have been searching for one for years now. We found one in an antique shop and the man refused to sell it. They come from former Eastern European countries when they are totally made of wood and iron. I have always envisioned one holding some of my own homemade quilts. Sigh! It remains a dream for now.
Have lots of fun tonight. It sounds like it is going to be quite an evening.
Hugs ~
Heidi
I plan to be at Suzanna's this evening also! Can't wait to meet Vanessa and see you again, Mary!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deborah

Thanks for the new blog link.I am in lavender love right now!
Your new stone wall is just so wonderful. Also like the arbor and picket fence. What kind of flowering shrub is covering the arbor?

Oh, how I wish I could go tonight, but I have to take work home with me. My husband and I are taking vacation time next week, and I have so much to get done.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful, and I hope you will share pictures.
Will lavender grow here? I've never planted any.
I can really smell the lavender from your photos. Great!

ReplyDeleteI love lavender... sigh...
I bet you had a lovely time this evening - looking forward to hearing about the new merchandise.
It sounds as though you two ladies are kindred spirits and enjoyed your time together. New friendships (and old) are such a blessing. May your new friendship with Vanessa bring both of you many years of mutual esteem and good times.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!
