Trumpeting Angels

I've been fretting over my Angel Trumpets all Summer and into Fall - hardly a drop of rain around these parts, strict water restrictions, and temps. in the 90's almost daily. Would the struggling Angel Trumpets bloom? Didn't look like it until this past week when, despite dropping lower leaves, buds appeared and today these gorgeous yellow blooms started to open on two plants. I'm just thrilled to see them before having to leave on Monday. OK, I have to tell you that the photos below are of the pink ones blooming last year in early October. I do see a few buds on this plant today but doubt they'll open before I leave - so you get last year's to ooh and aah over!

I'll be posting Sunday before leaving for England - please stop by and I'll give you a quick preview of my hometown in lovely Devon.

  1. Mary, Your trumpet vine were amazing this summer! The colours are so beautiful. We have them growing all over our fence ~ they took years to finally bloom, but it was worth the wait. You must be so excited about your trip. Have a wonderful, safe journey. Looking forward to seeing all your pics of beautiful Devon when you return.

  2. First ~ I'm going to miss you and I'm sure others will also.

Secondly ~ I can't wait to see Devon - the preview and photos of your visit when you return.

Third ~ These flowers are gorgeous. Funny, I saw a huge yellow one on the way home from Crabtree this afternoon. Sure got my attention!

I'll be in Tacoma and Seattle while you are away - we should return around the same time.

    Hugs,

  3. I miss you already Mary and you have not even left! It was fun to have another glimpse into your pretty garden. These Angel Trumpets are so pretty. What dainty skirts they are parading.

It will be great fun to see some photos of your home in Devon as you are away. I hope England is having the same weather we are which is perfect autumn weather ~ cool yet sunny and bright to show off the autumn colors on the trees.
