Shabby SuzAnna's

No time for treasure hunting this week but did stop by my favorite place, SuzAnna's, last week and found even more wonderful things I would have loved to bring home.
Just look at this spectacular shabby, rose encrusted dresser - with a little TLC this would be a stunning addition to any room in the cottage. These French beds below were to die for - some lucky shopper has picked them up by now I'm sure. Note the old lampshade frame with shreds - this idea seems to be a popular look for Halloween decor in some current decorating magazines.

Actually I did grab this already shabby twig sculpture - using it on my table with the white and pale green pumpkins - thought it would also be pretty decorated with crystals and red hearts come Valentine's Day.
Mirror, mirror on the wall......................loved this display of old hand mirrors.

Just so many great items at SuzAnna's. When I return from England I'll be heading over there for their Holiday Open House. I have a new decorating project in mind, the guest room, so know I will find plenty of lovely already shabby and chic things, at reasonable prices, to bring home. Those wonderful gals just get better and better when it comes to finding and hauling back the best treasures to their charming shop.............and it's just the most fun place in town to shop, meet up with friends, have meaningful chats, and just feel good. One almost wants to move in with them to stay surrounded by so many beautiful items full of history.........and then take some home to start a new life in one's own cottage!

This is an early Inspiration Friday post - hope you all have a great weekend treasure hunting in cool Autumn weather.

  2. Mary, I'm loving that the smaller green/white pitcher sitting on the old dresser ... hmmm, if I can find a place for it ...hmmm. Actually they do both look good together. I've been so busy - haven't had a chance to get back to SuzAnna's yet, but will soon.

Went to Fresh Market a couple days ago and saw some white pumpkins ... a first for me. They were not as pretty as the one you picked up.

Dear, have a wonderful time back home across the pond and be safe.

    Hugs,
    Deborah

  4. Mary..I love it when you visit SuzAnna's!!

I am coveting that bed in the last photo. I wonder what J would say, if I asked him to take a detour during our Christmas trip, east...on the off chance that bed will still be there. It's exactly what I'm looking for!!

  5. Great minds??? I too just went to a garden center yesterday that has the most amazing Christmas display area. It is huge. They are still setting it all up but I bought some white lighted branches like the brown ones I used for my Halloween tree (it is on my blog in the archives if you didn't see it) and a pack of red heart ornaments. They are supposed to be for the Christmas tree but I immdiately thought they would be adorable for Valentine's Day.

Are you pretty much packed and ready for England? I am excited for you to visit home and I will be looking forward to some photos when you return.

"Oh to be in England...." :)

  7. The big, white ironstone pitcher looks just like my mama's -- one that I fear my big brother got hold of and sold in Indiana, when he was selling off anything of my mother's that he could get his hands on. How I miss that pitcher! It had a matching cake plate, too. Lovely pictures, thanks.

  10. What nice photos of all those lovely things. Haven't been able to browse the local shops, too busy with other things. Here in our area shops it seems that there is a more folksy style of decorating and collecting rather than the shabby chic.
I've never been to England but if I could pick one place in the world that would be it. It facinates me. My view of England is seen on BBC TV. Glimpses of different areas both cities and countrysides. And then of course, all the wonderful movies and series filmed on location over there. Hope you take lots of photos to post here. Have a Great trip!
