A bud on the rose Peace is about to unfurl its peachy yellow petals - I will take a picture soon. More rain today has brought life back to many garden treasures.
Some roses dry so beautifully it's hard to discard them until they crumble to petal dust. These I've had since Spring. Now and then a petal falls, blows across the floor in the air whirled by the ceiling fan. I love them when the colors fade and they appear like vintage crepe paper beauties.
More surprises coming. Remember the Endless Summer hydrangeas? It's true, they are. Just wait and see.
Oh, your roses are beautiful. . .just. . .like. . .that!!
ReplyDeleteI also like the black and white pitcher they are placed into.
Blessings,
Sher
The colors of the roses are so pretty. So perfect for fall.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary! I've been catching up with MONTHS of your blog....time has run away again.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see all is going well for you and your house is as amazing as ever. Really good to see what you have been getting up to.

Some roses color so prettily when they dry. These are just beautiful! And the garden pot they are in is a work of art! Did you buy that in France? It is just soooo pretty.

Good morning, sweet Mary. I am sitting here looking out the window at our rose garden, and I need to go out and trim the blooms that didn't survive the rain. What a blessing to have the showers that came, but I could do without the humidity. I guess you have to be happy for the balance.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mary! I adore your dried roses and the lovely container they are in. Did you just let them dry natural as the water dried up? Or did you hang them upside down somewhere?

Penny
Wonderful dried roses Mary. I never thought about displaying them when they dry. It sure looks beautiful! btw I love the new look of the banner! I guess that word on the that pitcher is something in French and looks pretty similar to a Portuguese word that means "garden". Wish a very nice and cool Labor Day holiday! Hugs, Vanessa
ReplyDeleteSigh...you have the most beautiful pictures!

HEIDI - the pot came from a bargain chain store here called Ross - one of those hit or miss places - and was a true cheapo find!!
ReplyDeleteVANESSA - the word 'jardin' is French for garden - now you know why I had to buy it! Pattern looks black but actually is dark green.
PENNY - I DID hang the roses upside down from the chandelier in the potting shed in the Spring! They dried well there before the weather got too hot and humid.
That pot is just beautiful. Can you still smell the roses? Heidi is not sure why her blog is having a problem. They are trying to figure it out right now.
ReplyDeleteHave a good holiday.

Wow! A cheapo find? It looks so expensive. My blog is coming up again so go on over and try it.

Beautiful, Mary! I love to dry roses.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were driving our friend Pat around town last week, we went by the church to show her the statue, J and his brothers donated. A garden of white roses is planted around the statue. They are the Pope John Paul II commemorative rose. I need to get over there and get a photo, while they're in bloom. T'was too dark, the other night. The rose is gorgeous and has a lovely scent.
Beautiful arrangement of dried roses. My favorite has always been the yellow rose. Seems years ago we used to signify that one as the "friendship" rose.

I love roses.... Fresh roses are beautiful, but dried roses possess some sort of special charm that mistify...

The roses are beautiful. I just love to leave them in the vase dried until they fall apart.
