Independence Day 2008

Wishing you all a safe and happy
Independence Day.

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.

  1. Mary, as you can see I am up late. Your flag looks so nice and the quote from Dwight D. Eisenhower is a classic. I have never seen that quote. Thank you for sharing. Happy Independence Day to you and your family.

  3. Mary, I am so honored that you came to this country and love it as your own. We owe so much to our ancestors that came here to make a better life for their families. We are the benefactors of their sacrifice and wisdom.

Most of my ancestors came here from England, and I treasure everything you share so I can love it, too.

  7. Mary, Happy Independence Day!! I enjoyed catching up with you on your blog. I love the pink flowers in your garden! So pretty. The trip to SuzAnna's looks like such fun. I really, really like that set of patio furniture -- the pink and white. Oh, if only...! Your granddaughter is absolutely lovely!

  9. Oh, that's a coincidence! I see you chose the same flag as I did to post today...."wise minds think alike" as they say!

Happy Fourth to you and your family!
