Summertime continues

UMMER IS STILL WITH US......

......but I'm really waiting for Fall. Are you, like me, ready for a change in the weather? How I long for a cool morning - waking up feeling rested and full of energy to start the day. The cooler weather will inspire me to get going on new art, decorating and sewing projects. Then perhaps, when I awake to that first morning with a slight chill in the air, I'll take a roller and brush to a few walls........when I get all that painting paraphernalia down from the attic!

Plan to paint a lovely old sewing machine table to use by the bed in place of this fabric draped round table - think I have finally found the right color. I'm so enjoying my chalky grey blue bedroom walls - with the unrelentless heat of this Summer in the South, this color is definitely calming.

These dried roses have stayed looking quite pretty, however I would love to try making the fabulous "coffee filter" roses being shown by Crystal at Fariebees and Cindy at Romantic Home. Perhaps the onset of Fall, cooler days, and a few found hours will inspire me.

  2. What a lovely room, and a beautiful rose. Our seasons switched this year as you probably know from all our grumblings - but we have autumn already and we're still waiting for summer! Dare I say ... we actually have some sunshine this morning. Fingers crossed it decides to stay all day. It's become so dispiriting waking up to grey clouds and dull days for what seems like weeks.

I'm not complaining (a lot), just hoping for an Indian summer!

Sorry I missed your 100th post. Congratulations!

  5. It's beginning to feel like Fall here. The mornings have cooled off to around 55 degrees but it's still getting to almost 90 in the afternoon. What's with this heat????
All my Virginia Creeper has matured out and the Starlings are eating all the berries already, that doesn't usually happen until the first week of September.
I wish it could be Fall all year round!

  6. Our winters are long I'm dreading seeing summer end. Those gray skies really get depressing.
Your room is lovely. I really like light calm bedrooms.

I must tell you that I adore your bedroom. I love the paint color. Would you mind sharing what it is?

  8. Autumn is my favorite season and we are so lucky here that it has started early this year. Even my maple tree that I look out on from my computer room window is starting to tinge with orange! I can't wait for a cold and crisp morning. I long to wear wool sweaters once again.

I love your bedroom color. I am not a fan of the color blue but I think this grey blue is really perfect. What a pretty bed and mirror you have too.
