I love these colors together - the ochre shades of Fall foliage mingled with Cerulean ocean blues. I love the pre-Raphaelite ladies, thick red tresses, folds and gathers of a silk and velvet dress, calm countenance displaying thoughts of...............only she knows!

I like those colors together too! My mom and I were shopping yesterday, and saw some pretty bedding in these colors! Lovely!

Your tags are so pretty!
Beautiful picture, I love the Pre-Raphaelite women too, they always look so tranquil as you say and as for those gorgeous medieval gowns - if only clothes were that graceful and flattering these days.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, it's beautiful, just beautiful.

These tags are gorgeous and I totally agree that the color combinations of the background image are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe many shades of blue have found some interesting partners and trends as of late. One of my favorites is powder blue with chocolate!
I also love the rich fabrics depicted in the portrait. Her bed chamber invites serene thoughts!
I have fine, blonde hair-- and thankfully a lot of it. However, my hair was never full when I wore it long.
WOW! What beautiful art you made! Perfect colors together.:)
ReplyDeleteLove the saying .
Happy Wednesday Mary :). crystal x
Just stunning! I am loving French aqua blue with my reds, golds and greens. Just a touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and saying such nice things about my mosaic watering cans. I tried to email you with info on them, but the email came back :-(. So, if you want more info on them, weight, etc you can get my email from my blog or website, www.lavenderhillstudio.com
Thanks!!
Penny

Just caught up with you. Yes they are pretty and I will look forward to having a special breakfast with my grandson when he is old enough.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and Beautiful work! Are you selling any?
ReplyDeleteOh Mary!! These are just delicious! You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteI love this period in art also.
Hope you are having a grand evening!
Deborah
Thanks for all your kind comments on my work. No Angela, I've never tried to sell anything like this, just like to piddle with paper and pretties to share mostly with my art pal in Washington state. We inspire one another by mail - and we met for the first time this Summer when I visited her. How wonderful to have long distance friendships, just like our blogs, and then to meet in person and feel so comfortable together.
ReplyDeleteLife really is grand!
I'm grateful for each of you whether we meet in person or just keep in touch like this.

Beautiful work ! Don't you lose yourself in the art when you begin to work on a project? I do some of the same type of work...I love collages and playing with words and images and colors. But once I get started, I don't want to do anything else! My art takes over my mind.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful work Mary. I love the color combination as well.
