Beverly, our Pink Saturday hostess at How Sweet the Sound, has suggested that we share a favorite holiday decoration today. I really can't pick just one thing so will share some of my favorites around the house which are quite simple vignettes I've gathered together and placed hither and thither. I read somewhere, just recently, that the Christmas spirit should be everywhere in your home, even if just one tiny thing in each room - that's what I'm trying to accomplish.
Meanwhile, outdoors, a favorite for the past several years, is my Victorian gazebo with a Christmas tree decorated with Nature inspired objects such as pine cones and wooden ornaments. There are two large paper stars and strings of clear fairy lights. In the dark of night, the entire gazebo glitters and gives the now somewhat dreary garden a new lease on life for Christmas.
Wishing you each a wonderful weekend. Everyone is very busy now as Christmas draws near. Remember to take time out from your decorating and holiday preparations............stop for a warming cuppa, take a breather in the cool air, sit by a glowing hearth and listen to carols and seasonal music.............or, like me, start packing a suitcase and take a holiday trip! No, not off across the pond again, but will be somewhere very 'Christmassy' for few days........if the weather doesn't let us down like last year!!!!
The star I saw in your gazebo is called a "Moravian star," and I have one, too. At my previous parish, they had a large one, the panels made of shell, that I loved dearly. I bought my current one (not lighted) in memory of that other, lovely one.
ReplyDeleteyour things are very lovely...you sound like my sister in law..they travel back forth "Across the pond" as well...they live in London and Colo...what a life!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless You

Such beautiful decorations. I love the sleeping angel....I guess she/he got tired from trying to keep everyone safe. We have a gazebo too - I never thought about decorating it. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip to a Christmasy place.....are you going to visit Santa? Happy Pink Saturday!
Such lovely decorations and it is indeed nice to Christmas through the whole house
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gazebo and the small Christmassy accents that you have artfully arranged around your home are so stylish!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip, I wonder where you're going this time? Vermont?

The little angel is so cute laying there looking all snug. I think that your outdoor area is really pretty, and I'm sure that it glows with warmth at night. Hope that you have a good trip! My daughter and I are off to see my grandmother as she is getting more frail, but at 92 she is still doing fairly good. She lives up in the mountains near Asheville, and there is also a family reunion today so it should be quite fun. Life has been too busy lately to post, but I try to take a brief moment to read a few blogs as I go by the computer!!
ReplyDeleteTake Care! Have a safe trip!!!

Love all of your decorations. I must show my husband the gazebo, as I would love to decorate our trellis in the back with twinkling lights and a tree with large stars.

ReplyDeleteWe don't need elaborate decorations or a big tree or numerous gifts under a tree. All any of us needs is to carry the spirit of Christmas in our hearts and to share it all year long with everyone we meet.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your blog with me today. Yes, I'm crazy about ♥PINK♥ but I'm also devoted to visiting some of the nicest blogs in cyberspace.
