........small DELIGHTS

YESTERDAY...........

..................I picked wild flowers.

I jumped from the car, scissors in hand, cut the tall Queen Anne's Lace, the tiny white daisies. Just white and green weeds at the side of the road................but so very lovely.

I like them here on the front porch by the entry door.

Reflected in an old French mirror.

The colors are clean, fresh.

A multitude of small delights constitutes happiness.

On a cold rainy day here in middle England your pictures warm the heart, whenever I have put wild flowers in water they flop very quickly. That beautiful stone wall with the blue gate, the colour of Cyprus and Greece.and those gorgeous views .Your blog has gladdened my heart this Sunday morning . I,m going to tell friends to visit--cottonreel

  9. Mary,

That is precisely why I never roam anywhere without clippers in my car or purse. Wildfloweres are just the best and in fall the bittersweet and at Christmas the greens that are begging for a trim!

  11. Hello Mary! Thanks so much for your visit and comment! I love Queen Anne's Lace because it reminds me of my sweet grandmother who always used to pick some and bring it over to our house.

  12. I was over your way this afternoon at a graduation party for my nephew. And, I saw lots of Queen Anne's Lace on the way to our sons, and I really wanted to stop. But, the traffic was too bad.

    Yours looks beautiful.

  17. And a beautiful bouquet it is!! I need to see if our "lace" by the creek is blooming. I haven't seen as much beside the road this year.

  18. I've done this! Many years ago, we were helping to decorate for Larry's cousin's wedding. We cut many a Queen Anne's Lace from the roadside.

We'll be heading for Roanoke Thursday. Our baby Andrew will be one year old this weekend!

    Love you,
    Deborah
