Pink Saturday - Cottage Pink

Many a childhood ramble took me here to the village of Cockington in Devon. Wandering along the lanes from my home up on a hill down into the valley near the sea, passing these pink cottages was always fun. Yes, they were even pink that long ago!!!

Rose Cottage is now a tea room with lovely gardens by a stream.

The former School House is a quaint gift shop.

Bet you would have loved going to a school this pretty!

Nice to be back participating in Pink Saturday. These pics are from my recent visit home to England in April.
Hurry on over to visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound to see all the fabulous Pink Saturday posts.

  2. Love your new look!!! I 'm also crazy about the pink cottages. I found a bunch in a google search for my little goddaughter Hailey. She decided that Peter Rabbit mostly likely lives there (I made her a Beatrix Potter lover.)

  3. Mary, Thank you for taking me to school in England today. What a special trip. It was beautiful. A pink school must have been so calming. I am sure the girls loved it. I am new to Pink Saturday. I would like to add my name to follow your BLOG. I would love for you to do the same. Please stop by Country Wings in Phoenix. I would love to have you visit. "Country Hugs", Sherry

  5. To live in a pink cottage would be my idea of heaven. I wonder what they are like inside? I'd feel like I was living in a fairy-tale if I had one of those! xx

  6. Good morning Mary, we leave today for camping but we can't check in before 1:00 pm. Since we will only be a little over an hour away, I have time to visit a bit. One of our daughters and her family are sleeping in the cabin right now. They come from Jacksonville, Fl. and came up yesterday late last night. We said hello and goodnight. I am waiting for grandsons to burst through the back door any moment. The are 14 and 12.

The pink cottage houses are beautiful. So charming and English. A lifestyle of quaint times. It is wonderful that they have kept them up and wouldn't I love tea in that cottage? Did I ever tell you that my maternal and paternal grandmothers were English? Their families came to America long ago.

    See you again next week.

    Love and hugs...Jeanne

  20. A schoolhouse like that would definitely stimulate the young ones' imaginations! But would they get any work done, or just dream all day? I know which it would me for me...no offense to any of the teachers I had! ~Lori

  32. Oh, what a lovely pink house! I would love to visit it!!! It reminds me of when I was a child and we were going to my grandparents house. There was a pink house that sat on top of the hill, and my brother and I would always say, there's the pink house! We knew when we saw it we were just minutes away. Sadly, the lady died and her family tore it down or rather had the fire department use it for practice. My mother said she remembered it from when she first came over to the states over 50 years ago. My grandmother said it had been pink longer than that! Someone really loved the pink house as I did with the memories as I'm sure yours has a lot of memories too.
