Fly Away......or Come and Stay
"Psst - do you know the real wrens have left? Yes, flown away with mom and dad and are hopefully learning their way around the garden to the secret places where beetles, grubs, moths and caterpillars creep and crawl. Perhaps later, when fully grown with strong wings and perky tails, they'll go to the feeders hanging about in this garden - the people here spend an awful lot of money on really good bird seed - in fact I hear her dh complaining that the birds eat better than they do".

Your little birds are so charming....I love them. And I enjoyed the update about the real wrens too. It was fascinating reading about their fledging "ceremony" and I've learned something new, again!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,
ReplyDeleteSo glad I popped by! Your sunshiney post today is a real day-brightener. Your photos are so charming...I love the little birds...real and otherwise. Your love of nature and God's creatures is so evident here....
Best regards,
Lavinia
Your birds are most fortunate to have you as their mistress.
ReplyDeleteSometimes our misters just don't get "it".
I've just coming in from strolling around in our yard, and I need to go wipe off my pollen-covered shoes.
What a wonderful collection of birds.
ReplyDeleteWe are awaken by bird somg every morning now. Way too early, but I love it :-)
Golly, Miss Molly! I love your bird collection. I have to add that to my list. I do love birds so.....I am being treated to the most lovely symphony of finches and wrens as I write this comment.
ReplyDeleteGood Weekend, Friend
Rosie

Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour front porch is a wonderland! I so enjoyed these pictures you captured. They are simply beautiful.
Hugs,

Mary,
ReplyDeleteSorry I have missed so many of your inspiring and refreshing posts recently but we have been rather nomadic and more away than home :>)
I really enjoyed spending time amongst your pretty birds and, whilst these little beauties don't sing, their jizz is a joy to behold!!
Jizz is a wonderful word used by birders to describe the immediate recognition of a bird from the briefest of glimpses, the way they hold themselves, their characteristic twist of head or fluff of feather...haha! My husband is the keen bird watcher so I take no credit for the interesting terminology :>)
With warm wishes, Angela
