Thanks be................

My dear one made it home after spending most of the day at the airport. The snow was swirling across the runways. Delta had him on and off the plane twice due to problems de-icing. He made an airport hotel reservation for tonight, just in case, however I canceled it when I heard he was really on his way home, hooray!
It's been a frustrating day ~ we are all home safe, warm and dry. Christmas is almost here. It won't be a white one in North Carolina but that's OK. We plan to enjoy it quietly at home.
New York can wait.............perhaps a trip in the Spring will be easier.

  1. I know you are disappointed but I don't think I'd like to be in NYC, even if I could get there, with feet of snow. Part of the joy of the city is getting out and walking around. However, I bet Central Park will be stunning.

  3. Downtown NYC at XMAS --I could do that! Well, never mind it won't snow where you are at but I'm quite sure you will make it Christmassey. I love that pic, btw.

  4. Thank God he's home safe & sound - if not a tad bit worn out?! Sorry about your trip, but I feel things ALWAYS happen for a (good) reason!
    Merry Christmas and be warm!

  5. Mary:
I just caught up with yesterday and todays entries. I am so sorry that you had to cancel your trip. The good thing is your husband was able to get home. I always think there is a reason for everything so maybe it is for the best. Have a great weekend.

PS: that is a beautiful angel watching over you.

  6. That's good that you're all safe and sound! Traveling these days even in the best weather isn't what it used to be. My husband had a 10 a.m. flight out of Memphis last week which got cancelled and the flight he was rebooked on was at 6pm!! Yuck! Spring in NYC is lovely, but I gotta say Christmas there is beautiful!

  7. Mary, I am relieved you did not get on that plane for N.Y. I am glad your dh is home too. It just wasn't meant to be. Beverly and I were just saying you didn't make it to N.Y. and I found your comment. Home safe and sound, sounds good to me.

Your angel is so beautiful with your vignette. Your elegance always shines in your photos. Lovely Mary.

    Christmas love...Jeanne

  9. I had problems getting into Manhattan around Thanksgiving with bomb threats on the train! We thought we would wait till the season is over before attempting to go again.
    Glad you are all safe!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!

  10. Mary,

Merry Christmas to you and Bob. Thanks for being here with me all year and for your delightful comments..they mean more to me than you know.

Yes, we got the snow and although rain is predicted tomorrow I hope the snow will stick around and provide the first White Christmas in years.

  11. I'm so glad everyone is safe and together, as that is the most important thing. Sometimes when plans get altered, it ends up being even more special than what you had expected.

Enjoy your time together, and may you have the merriest of Christmases!!!

    P.S.
    LOVE that angel!
