I need to take a few days off to regroup, write 'to do' lists for baking and cooking, do this baking and cooking, clean house for company that may stop by, and rake up piles of leaves so they can get to the front door!
I want more time to read ~ love descriptions of Christmas in beloved books, such as Frances Mayes' account of Christmas Eve in Cortona in Tuscany. I was there once in a perfect Autumn and long to return for the Holidays.
I must stop burning the midnight oil and have more time in my nest snuggled under the duvet. But please come visit me next Wednesday when I'll welcome you into my cottage for the Holiday Home Tour 2007.

Mary,
ReplyDeleteI can relate. Please take some time to nest and I can't wait to see all your pictures on Wednesday. I have taken a few new ones as well.
Janet
Perfect nesting weather Mary! Enjoy. Looking forward to your Holiday Home tour :-}
ReplyDeleteOur snow is coming down big time. We have 4 to 6 inches since noon.
ReplyDeleteI got my sweater creation finished today and now I am working on hanging towels for my sister and neice. Have a good rest and regroup. Can't wait to see you Wed. entry.
Enjoy your time off! Looking forward to the pictures of the holiday tour!

Well who could not relate to this just days before Christmas? I am still trying to get my Christmas cards finished. I host our annual Christmas party for my quilt group on Wednesday and have tons of things to do for that evening. I want to get some more things done with decorating out at my front door. Oh the list goes on...
ReplyDeleteI have been taking time this year to read some Christmas themed novels which has been a welcome break for me. I hope you are finding some peace amidst the rush to Christmas!
I am glad to be home a bit more this week to catch up with all my online friends including you. I did do only my family's blogs on Friday before we left for Cranberry Cottage and since we adopted you...I left a comment on yours too. :)
Hugs ~
Heidi
I love Frances Mayes description of Christmas in Tuscany too. I should be cleaning house but am not. I am a real procrastinator but I'm running out of time - Kristen comes home Wednesday night!

I can SO related. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed these past few days, too. Enjoy your nesting time, and I'll look forward to seeing your decorations on Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteI visited once and you were going away. I am returning and you are taking time off. I still love this place and looking forward to your home tour. Will probably do mine too.
I am in the process of DIY decor. Its very hot where I am. No snow, just heat and rain.
Merry Christmas.
Thanks Mary. Its lovely having someone read all what I share. I know how it is to work hard on your health and get half the results. I am the healthiest person I know, yet I constantly have a small skin battle to fight every moment.
ReplyDeleteI have finally won the pigmentation war. I realised after 30 you can’t take your health for granted anymore. One of the reasons I like your blog and those of your friends is that, things you say in passing are a great wisdom to me and some of my age group. You probably never realise that. Now I’m off to Tracey’s blog.
I'll research on acne and possible remedies next. Thanks for a visit. I enjoyed reading and off course listening. Thanks again.
Love,
Soso
