Time to take time. Be tranquil and enjoy the simple things. Almond Cantuccini...........dip them in your favorite latte bowl. Sit down, reflect, relax, the busy time has passed by.
Let's have a coffee........................or Cantuccini con Vin Santo.............the classic way, dipping the little biscotti into the sweet dessert wine of the Chianti region of Italy.
The prettily wrapped Panforte from beautiful Siena..............a traditional Italian dessert containing fruits and nuts. A small wedge is served with coffee or dessert wine after a meal, or enjoyed with coffee at breakfast.

oh simply delightful and that cup

The previous comment summed it up - you are so LUCKY! Not that I have anything to complain about being in France over the Christmas feast-ivities! But it reminds me of the sunny days in spent in Venice recently, it took me a little while to get back into the swing of Paris, work and French coffee! Would love to drop everything and go back!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm Italian, and I so agree.

I have a photo of that exact candy that I photographed in Sienna this last Summer. We were at a beautiful ancient site as well, and I was so captured by the detail and beauty in the wrapping that I took almost the very same photo!! The pasta was equally beautiful....if only I had more luggage to bring it all home!! Funny thing I remember from Italy was all of the white China clanking and ringing along the streets as everyone stood to get their afternoon espresso. I loved that sound!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Italy great? One of these days I'll make it back.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful Christmas, I am still her having a very nice time with both my Grandaughters and their families in New York. Mandie and I are having fun putting scrapbooks together of our Christmas pictures with Kristy the Scrapbooking Queen as a guide.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Well Mary, we would really get along like a house on fire as we both love latte, almond cantuccini and panforte. Isn't it wonderful that you can eat your way through the European culture? :)
ReplyDeleteWe are having a Greek evening I guess you could say as I bought some yummy things to munch on with some warm ciabatta bread and wine for dinner. (And yes, by all means use the soup cappucino idea. It is a fun thing to serve to guests too.)
Are you spending time reflecting during these last few days of 2007?
Hugs ~
Heidi
Sounds fabulous! I must go make a cup of coffee now.
