I know many of you are assured of a White Christmas this year.................do enjoy it and then send some my way................just a dusting would be fine! Meanwhile, here in central North Carolina, it's more like a soggy, cold Christmas season so far. Raining again today but not cold enough to change to snow. Very cold later after the rain stops so again, no snow. The tall piles of sodden leaves at the curb are ugly now, a dusting of white would turn them into mini-mountains. Children would climb, pretending to be mountaineers. Grown-ups would sigh with joy knowing 'just a dusting' would mean passable roads to get out to finish the Christmas shopping, and visit family and friends.
A recent sunny day was a pleasant surprise between the damp drizzle and 'pouring cats and dogs' rains that have plagued us.
The porch looked pretty and it was warm enough to sit on a chair and just think about all that needed to be done for Christmas.
So, here are the words, clear and bright........................I'm ready for it, but 'just a dusting' please!
Hi Mary:
ReplyDeleteWe had some snow last night and now it is nearly gone again. I can do nicely without it though. I love your snowmen saying Let it snow though.
Nancy
I hope you get your dusting. I love the look of it too.
ReplyDeleteHave a Merry Christmas!
Becky
Incredibly well decorated. Love it.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteI would be more than happy to send you "a dusting" if you send me a little sunshine. It is raining here now, but we have well over a foot of snow on the ground, so I can send some your way and still have plenty for a white (probably dirty gray by Thursday) Christmas.
XoX,
Janet
That would be wonderful, wouldn't it? I've always dreamed of a white Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your husband is safe and sound back home with you.
I wish we had snow TOO! I miss it!!
ReplyDeleteI would love a dusting also, Mary.
ReplyDeleteI miss the snow covered mountains of West Virginia. We've certainly had our share of rain - you should see the creek in back of our home - more like a river now!
Love the birdies amongst the holly and the snowmen!
Hugs, Deborah
I love snow at Christmas. You can hop on over to my blog and see the snow we have. unfortunately it as been accompanied by bitter cold--28 below when I woke up this morning.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do have a white Christmas. I love that little bird sitting in the holly. He's so cute.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Susan
Last week we had freezing rain, sleet and just a dusting of snow. We are dreaming of a white Christmas! The weather guys keep promising snow, but we are doubtful!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
I wish we only had a dusting. After an ice storm last week and without power for 4 days, it snowed and snowed and snowed. 18" and another storm due on Wednesday. Maine will be having a very, very white Christmas this year. Happy Holidays to you.
ReplyDeleteMary, those are some pretty pics! I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. Look forward to a fun 2009 with all my blogging friends.
ReplyDeleteHello Mary, I agree with a little snow to brighten up this dreary weather. It was 11 degrees this AM. We have finally finished getting ready for Christmas. Now I can relax and enjoy the next few days.
ReplyDeleteYour porch with it's sunshine yellow did not look like winter. Just lovely. I also loved the birds and the let it snow scene. We need to lighten these days and your photos sure did it for me.
I posted a little tribute to Babette to please Bill. He so wanted me to post her pictures. He poured over our photos for days. All it did for me was make me cry. sigh. She was my birthday gift all those years ago. I hope I can finally say goodby now.
Christmas love to you all...Jeanne
What a wonderful post Mary! Just a dusting would be great... It is something I really enjoy, so beautiful and I don't that in Brazil! Your porch is looking so adorable! Love the birds! Have a lovely evening! Hugs ~ Vanessa
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a Green Christmas down there, at least from your lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteI would be happy to lend you a dusting. Bismarck broke its record from 1916 for the most snowfall in December - 25 inches. We are promoised 3-6 inches more today.
