As a follow up to my last post which mentioned much about food and wine, I thought I'd share some lovely dining areas which should inspire you this Friday.
I love dining areas that mix old pine farm tables with funky chairs. Perhaps the sideboards hide crisp linen tablecloths, napkins and placemats, old silver cutlery in velvet lined mahogany boxes, big white china platters for holidays, and Bougies de France - those marvelous dripless candles.

A fancy kitchen corner complete with a fireplace - now that would be a special place to curl up with tea or coffee and a good book while awaiting the oven timer to beep.
Wishing each of you a wonderful weekend
sharing good food with family or friends at your special table.

Thanks for visitng my blog and I will certainly remember how nice our summers are compared to NC. My brother lives there and I have been there in July. I'll take winter over that summer anyday. Today is gorgeous in NH so hopefully the snow and rain is gone.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and am enjoying reading it. I'll have to add you to my favorites.
Ooooh, what beautiful pictures! I just love dining rooms and eating areas. Our rituals are so often centered around food, so they really are an important part of the home.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the floors in that first photo, and of course that red dining room! Thanks for such beautiful inspiration today~

Two of those pictures are in my permanent files! I love dining rooms (sadly not having one in this particular home) the ones you pick are all so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFresh flowers always make any dining table look great, you are right. (even if it is the kitchen table, like at my house!)
Love these photos. Great inspiration. We have a long pine farm table in our breakfast room. This is where we have our meals when our family gathers, here!
ReplyDeleteI ordered The French Inspired Home. Thanks so much for the "review"! Can't wait to have a look at this book!

ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my site today - it's always lovely "seeing" you!
I just picked roses this afternoon and put them in an old crock on my dining table. I love this time of year when there is an abundance of flowers for my table. Thanks for the inspiration today.
ReplyDeleteOh what glorious photos! I adore the pone farm table and that gorgeous red dining room. Wow. Your blog is such a wonderful place. I ventured in via Kim at Daisy Cottage. Will be back a lot. I have bookmarked it!
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid time on your trip! I wish I was there too!!
Hugs,
Sue

Thank you for the inspiring dining areas - you know the picture with the hats for lampshades, I was going to try and find that Better Homes spread because I love that house so much - was going to use it as my inspiration too! So fun to see other people loving the same things :o)
