................oranges, squeeze 'em!!!!

My neighbor kindly shared her box of citrus fruits from Florida. Thinking they were all oranges......after all they were on the outside.......I was quite surprised to find 'pink grapefruit' inside some! Yep, they taste like grapefruit and are not 'blood oranges'. So, can you tell me ~ you Florida gals perhaps ~ do grapefruits come disguised as oranges sometimes?
Whatever, they are gorgeous and I had to share the colors before sipping all that beautiful, healthy, fresh squeezed juice this morning.

What a beautiful still life of oranges! I didn't know grapefruits come disguised as oranges either. --Delores
ReplyDeleteFruit of all kinds are so beautiful and amazing! I love them. Do you like you Oster to get the juice? I need something better. Your oranges and grapefruit look so very good.

Gorgeous photos, Mary!
ReplyDeleteYears ago when there several family kids in FFA, we ordered fruit, every year. It was a major fund raiser for FFA. We always looked forward to the delivery of cases of fruit, which was usually near Christmas. Indian River Grapefruit was always ordered, along with gorgeous Oranges.
Squeeze them both! Love fresh squeezed juice and grapefruit is my juice of choice. Yum! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteThis post reminded me of a time when my DH and DD went on a Florida vacation our friend had given us the key to their house so we could get away for a week in the winter. Went out in the yard and saw what I thought were oranges picked them off the tree came in and squeezed them gave the glass to my hubby only to find out after he had taken a big sip that they were lemons :). They were the biggest lemons I had ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the trip down memory lane LOL. Love your photo.
Hello Mary; OH how lucky,, to have fresh squeezed juice... mmmmm I love grapefruit pink kind... and oranges... I have only seen large grapefruit, not the ones the size of oranges.. have a great week.

Hi Mary! Those look so yummy, and it is a good thing that you got them now since the freeze that hit Florida will probably drive the prices up! There is a fruit (buy or ship) place close to hubby's uncle and aunt down in Ft. Myeres. We always stop there to pick some up to eat all the way home!
ReplyDeleteTake Care!
