Ogunquit Beach, Maine ~ July 6, 2009
Being at the shore is always enjoyable. I especially love the beach in the Fall and Winter, after the tourists have gone home!
Last Monday, the sun shone brightly on the packed beaches of New Hampshire and Maine after a chilly, wet June. Traveling along the coast roads, we stopped at several favorite spots where we used to go on hot Summer days back in the 1960's and '70's.......and of course we reminisced. Living so close to such a lovely coastline, we enjoyed the beach and the fresh seafood brought in daily by the small boats plying the waters offshore.
Wild pink beach roses growing in the sand at Ogunquit, Maine.
Be certain to visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound to celebrate pink today!
There should be a new blogger posting her first 'Pink Saturday' post today........my 'traveling granddaughter' Jasmin, who now has a cute blog, Live Love Laugh and I know she would really enjoy a visit from YOU!

Ahhh...the cool breeze of a beach on a hot summer's day! lovely.
ReplyDeleteTake me away to the beach. I would so love to be around the ocean. It is so relaxing. I could smell the sea air and feel the breeze on my face as I looked at your picture. Just wonderful. Wonderful Pink Saturday post. Country Hugs, Sherry

Enjoy your weekend, Mary. I would love to be lying under that pink umbrella watching the surf roll in. Pink is my favourite colour. xx

ReplyDeleteI am still fascinated by roses on the beach. They are so pretty.
And, what could be better than pink umbrellas?!!! Love it.
I'll be visiting your sweet Jasmin's first pink post.
I'm like you I like the beach in the fall. It is still hot enough, but not as many people. That's when I can really relax!
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking Jasmin's blog out, and maybe I'll do a pink Saturday some time. The pink roses on the beach are pretty. It shows you how hardy roses can be!

ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love, it's gorgeous! I grew up in CA and have to say that my favorite spot was the beach on a dark rainy day. You just couldn't beat sitting in the car, listening to the rain on the roof and hearing the angry waves....I love it most of all, Happy Pink Saturday, Char
ReplyDeleteNever thought of the beach in pinks but it is nice. I envy you too, living near the beach. I will love hearing from Jasmin. Wish I could get some of my crew to blog. Blessings

ReplyDeleteHello Mary, Love your beach photos and the beautiful colors. Especially the pink. Your vacation sounds wonderful and fun. We love Ogunquit and would love to go back.
ReplyDeleteI am going to visit Jasmin's post next. I haven't commented yet today. We have 15 family members here right now winding up grand kid's week. Tomorrow all will leave. Oh the quiet will be heaven, but I will miss everyone. No rest yet and I sure need some. We have had quite a busy two plus months nonstop. I am ready to be a bit lazy.
Of course my garden won't let me. sigh.
Take care my friend and have a wonderful trip out west.
Love, Jeanne
