Tropical birds in all shades of pink were flaunting their feathers. My favorites have to be these gorgeous flamingos and ibis.
As for plants, I just loved this shrub (below) which was blooming all around the tropical birds. Its pink is so pretty. I would enjoy having one grace my garden.........which right now resembles a zoo complete with several homeless cats passing through, battalions of squirrels, birds by the dozen, a lone raccoon who crossed the deck one evening recently, and goodness only knows who trekking through after dark!
Mustn't complain though. In nearby Durham, NC a black bear is busy inspecting gardens, knocking over bird feeders to find food, and scaring a neighborhood unused to such large wild visitors. A bear in my garden I definitely don't want!

I'm on vacation in New England and sending wishes for a great Independence Day celebration to any and all friends who stop by here today.
Thanks Beverly for still giving so much of your time to Pink Saturday. I'm certain there are a lot of pink friends to visit today at How Sweet the Sound.
Special Note: Today I visited the nicest blog friend and her husband in Massachusetts! I'll have more pics to share soon of Janet of Housepeepers. What a warm and wonderful welcome at her beautiful home...................and a delicious breakfast too! Thanks so much Janet.
Very busy day visiting Plymouth and Boston. The rain stopped and the sun came out, it was near perfect, hooray!

Love all your pink today, nice to hear you are having a nice visit with a blogging friend. Enjoy the 4th too.
ReplyDeleteFun! I can't wait to see pictures!! I love the zoo! It is about time to take Kyle back!! Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your weather is better! I just love our zoo!!

I'm glad the sun is shining at least a little bit for your holiday.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing more about your visit with Janet and Bob!
I thought of you yesterday while I was at the One Dollar Bookstore...found Susan Hill's sequel to 'Rebecca' and of course bought it. I'll be curious to see how 'Mrs. DeWinter' reads.

The contrast between the yellow home, blue door and white trim is stunning .... be sure to tell them. Have fun and Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteWere you surprised at how small Plymouth rock was?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe it. Maybe that was just part of it. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Looking forward to pictures. Blessings

Happy Pink Saturday and Fourth of July, Mary. I know you must have had a wonderful time with Janet.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that bear was hit by a car when trying to cross Hillsborough Road. It is such a shame that they couldn't catch it so it could be relocated to a safe spot.
Growing up in south Florida, I have always loved flamingos. When I was a young child, I always asked by daddy to drive by the flamingos.
I hope you enjoyed your trip to the zoo. I miss ours, since we moved we're too far from any zoo.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth of July and Pink Saturday, both of them!!!
