Guardian of all things old and lovely.

Brocante in Carcassonne.

The beautiful antique treasures of France are often displayed on the sidewalks, even spilling out onto the streets. After gazing at statues, huge urns, and intricate iron pieces, you are easily enticed to step into the shop where the merchandise leaves you swooning, longing, and wishing you could say to heck with the budget, lease a container and ship it all home!

Outside an antiques shop in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Provence.

I enjoy seeing items displayed like this ~ no clutter ~ the shapes clearly visible.

I'll be waiting ~ do return soon.

  3. I would have come back with crates full of stuff! Everything is so beautiful there - is anything ugly? It must be amazing living in place surrounded by such beauty!

I came by to say Happy Thanksgiving - my daughter is off from school this week so I'm taking the rest of the week off from blogging.

  8. Mary, thank you for you sweet comment on my post today. I am glad you enjoyed my silly story. It sure made me chuckle. Thanks for your ides for the sleigh. I am thinking Holly with berries. It grows all over a piece of property we own here. My sister and I need to harvest a bunch of it for the holidays. I am thinking packages too. I'll post it later when I figure it out.

I love your lovely pics of the antiques and such. I can't get enough of your lovely photos. France is a very romantic country.

Sending love and the happiest wishes for a lovely Thanksgiving Mary.

    Love...Jeanne

  12. We are going to make some changes in our garden in 2009 and I spotted the perfect urn in the photo. Maybe I should jump in my car...lol! I love these kinds of shops even just for the inspiration. The fencing and gates are pure perfection!

    Hugs ~
