Thunder in the distance mid-morning. Rain came down soaking the parched red clay earth, filling the fountain and birdbaths. Small rivulets ran down the driveway, the songbirds went into hiding in the shrubbery. Grabbed a jacket and my camera, filled my coffee mug. Sat on the front porch watching the rain fall and taking a few pictures.

Beautiful! I love the Porch chandelier and all your statuary :-) Rosie
ReplyDeleteSounds like a totally awesome morning! Glad you shared it with us.

Ah! You put your little sleeping cherub out on the bench. Love it! I can't wait to tell my mother (who is finally back home from her wanderings!) that you put your front porch on again. You know how we love your front porch! The neighbors seem to have a cute little house next door so I could come live there and be your neighbor. I love that red brick chimney. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased to see that you got some rain. I know you talk about needing it so there. See Mother Nature did listen...
Hugs ~

You're like me - I love to sit outside with a cup of coffee when it's raining. Beautiful chandy on the porch!

Oh it sounds wonderful! I wish I could learn to appreciate the snow as I do the rain. I just love your chandelier! Enjoy the rain dear friend!
ReplyDeleteHere's a wish that our crummy snow and rain heads your way, as you need the moisture badly. We've had record amounts of rain in the past 2 weeks that have flooded most of our basements, and caused MAJOR damage in 2 homes on my street alone.
ReplyDeleteI love the porch, the view, the green...the stems of flowers coming out. I look out at the wet snow here and want to weep with envy! This is the winter blues....*sigh*... I'll just keep popping into your blog to enjoy what we might see in a couple of months.
Oh how cute. I really love your front porch. That sleeping angel could move over a little so i fit too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite weather...the rain!

The bunnies are also cute. Glad to hear you got the needed rain.

I'm glad to read that your area got some rain as I've heard of the drought there. I love watching the rain too, as long as it isn't real cold.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteWhen it starts to pour in the summertime I run to sit on my porch....it's one of my favorite things to do...I love the smell of fresh rain, the sound of it, and well...you understand. I enjoyed your beautiful pictures.
