Lots of interesting faces at this fun shopping venue in Asheville, near the Biltmore Estate. As I took loads of photos to share with you, I'll pop in a post now and then to show you many neat items........many of which would have stories to tell I'm sure.
Loved the tags on this dealers items - always a nice extra I think. A doggie with a vintage Roseville bowl for food or water would be especially fortunate!

Beautiful portrait - wished I had a place for this. Would hang it as is, love the wear at the bottom of the canvas and no frame.

This tin angel was lovely - the paint colors and the wings formed from old tin ceiling tile.
Goodness, gracious, great balls of.................string!

I'll leave you here with a few beautiful books..............I'm off to bed with my latest paperback, not as pretty but definitely less hefty for comfy reading tucked under the warm duvet.

I know! I love that too! There's a store in Mebane I love, The Elegant Relic, Lacey has a super cute cat, such a friendly one! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a nice time on your trip! Love, Vanessa
I love this shop... yes, the tags add a bit of whimsy that I like. I could see you with the painting, although I am only somewhat familiar with your dining room and porch, so don't know where you would put it. I do like the dreary colors for some reason
ReplyDeleteThere is an antique store I go to that has a Standard Poodle. It is huge and I think it startles me because they are like small poodles that have morphed!!
Have a good night, Mary!

So many places to visit when we go to Asheville, I can't wait! Yet I'll have to, but I am going to try and make it there next month. I like that portrait too, such a beautiful young woman. You sort of wonder what she might be smiling about. I like the blocks too with the initials although it is always hard to find something with a U!!! I just finished a book by the author Helen MacInnes. It was an old, old mystery book, but I was thrilled to find out she has quite a few more books written. Now that I am not outside as much I don't conked out the minute my head hits the pillow! Hope that you enjoyed your book too, and watch out for the rain coming your way!
ReplyDeleteTake Care!

Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your photo tours of interesting shops. Those tags have given me an idea for Christmas!
I do wish someone would adopt the portrait. I always feel sad when I see old photos and portraits who have "lost" their family. I get the urge to adopt them, hang them in my family gallery as "Great Aunt Maude or Second Cousin (Twice Removed) Oliver"! *Ü*
Mary, I was just back at the Screen Door yesterday. Looking for a square coffee table for the great room. Didn't find one...
ReplyDeleteThe place that I get my bird seed is called Wild Birds Unlimited. They have the most beautiful cat that wanders about the shop. Kind of ironic when you think about cats and birds...:-)
Hugs,
Penny
I am having to alternate my visits and so I am making comments on two posts at once. I loved the tour through the one today and the one from Charlotte. I get so aggravated every time I see something similar to something I did away with. The tin items are like some I put in a yard sale. I guess changing around is okay. blessing Mary

Mary,
ReplyDeleteI am passing an award on to you. You may pass on it if you'd like, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I also wanted to have you come by because I am having a giveaway!! Good luck!!

Good evening Mary, I have had very little computer service today. Off and on because of the bad weather we are having today. I would love to visit the Screen Door when I am in Asheville next time. I love the photo of the cat. I have never had cats but they are very interesting animals. Independent and wise. Love your photos of all the goodies to see. The angel was very different and I like it. The woman in the painting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs and love to you, Jeanne
I love the tin angel. A very creative angel. I hope the duvet feels extra cozy tucked inside with a book. I wouldn't mind doing that tonight myself, but off to swimming soon I must go.
ReplyDeleteThere is an antique store near where I live that is an old general store. They had a Jack Russell dog, Lucy, and you could always hear her nails clicking across the wood floor to come and greet you. She was adorable. They had a platter of cookies for the customers, and when you took one, Lucy would come up and look at you with the most pathetic look...and you would soon be at her mercy! When they opened a small cafe, poor Lucy had to abandon shop. I do miss her when I visit there. ~Lori
ReplyDeleteKNOX, the radio station I worked at in Grand Forks, had a station cat, Norma Knox. She would usually sit on my lap for about an hour each day as I wrote commercials. As the station was out in the country, in the middle of potato fields, we were glad to have Norma around to control the mouse population for us.
