Seems we all have Spring Fever and just can't wait for the clocks to change and enjoy those longer evenings - three weeks earlier this year here in the USA. Garden chores are are making themselves highly visible now - will have to get the old joints loosened up before all that raking, bending, kneeling etc. Meanwhile the indoor versions of my favorite flower, the tulip, are scattered about the house on pots I've decoupaged and prints I've framed. I enjoy these while the true ones are struggling to poke through the earth - hopefully I'll share pictures of them later. I now plant tulips mostly in pots to thwart the dastardly squirrels and voles - daffodils are not on their menu, thank goodness, so they're out there waving in the Saturday morning sunshine.
Enjoy your weekend whether under sunny skies or falling snow flakes - every day is wonderful so make the most of it!

Hi Mary, it's both sunny and snowy here today in Minneapolis. It's beautiful and a perfect day for a walk outside with the camera I think. I hope you have a wonderful day. I'm looking forward to your next blog! :o)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, thank you for your comment on my blog. I love tulips, I planted some lovely big blowsy ones in a trough back in October and they are halfway up already - I hope no frost comes along and damages them! Clare x
ReplyDeleteHello, Mary. Congratulations on being a new blogger - I am pretty new at it myself! I love tulips, but every time I put in bulbs, the squirrels come and dig them up - but they leave the daffodils alone, and they are coming up and ready to pop open!
ReplyDeleteMy mother is from "across the pond." She was born in Manchester. But she has not been back in MANY years, although she has 6 brothers and sisters there. Less than fond of flying.
I love your cottage home. I will have to check back often to see you again. Take care,
Tulips - my favourite spring flower! Bought some today that are orange and yellow! Put a penny in the jug - they will be nice and tall by tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIn my garden on Vancouver Island, the tulips are up about 4". I only pick one tulip at a time from the 'bunches' in my yard!!
Hello from a NC native. Love your blog! Thanks for sharing the photos!
ReplyDeleteI adore tulips, too. Now if I could just grow them without the bunnies chomping them down!
ReplyDeleteYour blog looks great!
I love tulips as well. We have a pot of red tulips on the kitchen table at the moment as our garden is covered in snow!
