More ScreenDoor

return trip to the ScreenDoor in Asheville a couple of weekends ago was exciting, as always. The first day I stopped in for a quick look as soon as we arrived in town. DH patiently hunkered down on the sofa in the bookshop area while I did a fast run through to look at many treasures scattered high and low, such as the French chair I brought home with me ~ more pics when the upholsterer has had his way with her!

No housing shortage, there were elegant homes for our feathered friends.................

Maximum storage available ~ plenty of drawers in which to organize tiny found treasures...........

Lots more to show you another time............old and chipped, painted and distressed, real antiques, funky knock-offs, quirky, pricey, bargains.....maybe. Depends on what you like. What you collect. What might be perfect for a certain spot in your home......or your imagination.

  1. What a great shop. It wouldn't be hard to find anything there. I love those bird houses. I often think of getting one just to look at-don't know if the birds would come near it.

  2. Im heading back to the Screen Door today! I went back last week to get that one chandelier for my master bathroom and it was gone :-(. so know I am on the hunt for another one.

I decided against a picture tile on my backspash...I just felt there was not enough room.

I am going to Rhondi's on Saturday.....see you there!

  4. I have a birdhouse collection, that I forgot about, as I do so many things, It is on the top of my kitchen cabinets and just forgot they were up there. Guess I will get them down and see what I can do different with them. Thanks for the shashay around the store.

  9. Mary, I think I am in love with this store. Maybe one day we will be able to get out and about again.

I've been on the lookout for a large birdcage for our front porch. I needs to have a stand with four legs so the wind can't blow it over, and I think that is why I am having such a hard time finding one.

I sure wish I could go to Rhondi's with all of you. I know you will have such a wonderful time. Tell everyone I said hello.

  10. I definitely have a perfect spot in my imagination! Well, you know unlike your DH, I would have been tagging right along with you looking at everything. I love antique stores like this.

...oh, and yes, I'm putting you down for Bakewell Tart and Trifle. Yumm. Love those. I will be sure to mention it when it gets closer to the time on my blog.

There's no snow here now btw (not nearly as much as people might imagine for CO when living along the Front Range) but, believe me, in the mountains it will be thick! Never mind though, wih the wonders of virtual blog parties, one doesn't have to get too wet or too cold.

  12. I'm loving the bird house with the reel and lures! That is just too cute. Since my husband is an avid fisherman...it would make him chuckle.

  14. I love every bit of this, Mary!

I heard, from a friend, there was a rock slide on hwy 40, near the NC line and that road will be closed awhile. Do you know anything about that?

  15. I have to visit this shop when we go to Asheville. I am a nut for birdhouses. Some I use outdoors, others look wonderful indoors. And I love all the chippy cabinets.

    Curious about your chair...

    Have a happy week, Mary!

  16. I must show my husband the bird houses. He likes to build creative ones. I love the drawers, but everything would be a temptation.

  17. Hi Mary
The store looks wonderful. I love the birdcage on top of the brown bureau. It reminds me of one that I fell in love with years ago in a shop in Switzerland and I wanted to bring home with me.
