Let the painting begin........

Rushed through breakfast as it will be a busy morning................

...................painting starting today. I've always done the interior painting but as this big job involves getting the texture off the bedroom ceiling and painting the stairwell, I'm leaving it all to Superman Bruce who comes highly recommended. I feel thoroughly spoiled - but meanwhile will supply mugs of coffee with almond biscotti, afternoon tea and Belgian chocolate biscuits, and moral support while he's up on the ladders rather than me!

Love this color - contrasts well with woods and natural materials.

Tall peeling wooden door - lovely colors.

This week at SuzAnna's Antiques.

Peeling and chipped but still lovely old painted wood.

My natural stone bowl holding potpourri - soft paint colors with a little persimmon accent.
A cream painted and decoupaged terracotta pot - one of many I've decorated.

  1. Could you send Superman Bruce over here when you are finished with him. I have lots of painting that needs doing and I DON"T WANT TO DO IT!! Sorry for screaming in your ear!

  2. What a lovely feeling it must be to leave the tranformation in the hands of Superman Bruce.

  3. Hi Mary.
How fortunate you are to have someone doing the painting for you. I'd be willing to come and do the painting for you with all the goodies you said you'd give him! Once we had a professional painter and boy was it nice to come home after work and have it done. It made me feel rich.
I love the neutral color pallette you have in your home. Looking forward to see how the room progresses. Rhondi

  4. After Superman Bruce has been to Janet's, can you then send him here? Of course, with all the spoils he is getting at your house, I might have to come join you and check out his work ahead of time. Well, someone needs to taste test the cookies and coffee don't they????? :)

I finished the chairs but want to add a tiny bit of wax to one. I will do that tomorrow morning and then I am finished. They are staying in the living room now since we just love them redone. I have a paint card sitting on one of them to decide on which color to use. I need Bruce quickly. Are you almost done with him? LOL!

I love the terracotta pot you decorated!

Okay is this maybe a silly question but what is your idea of a great breakfast? Do you eat eggs? I love to have a toasted baguette with real butter and a medium boiled egg all washed down with a cup of cafe au lait which Jos is a master at making. Actually not so fancy and (except the egg) very French. What about you?

    Hugs ~
Heidi.....who is very excited to see some final results photos of your decorating transformation.

  7. Hi:
I am so happy for you that you don't have to do your own painting. Good for you. To answer your question, I am going to Heidi's on April 14th and returning on May 14th. Want to join us?

  8. I am also seeking the perfect neutral- one for my kitchen- but I've been indecisive as I am usually one for color! Good luck with your painting project, and I love that terracotta pot too!
